About the role:

We are looking for an experienced and driven Compliance Officer to oversee all aspects of regulatory compliance within Starpeak Insurance Solutions. The Compliance Officer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive compliance programs to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive compliance programs, policies, and procedures in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and audits to identify potential areas of non-compliance and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to business units on compliance-related matters, including regulatory interpretation, policy development, and training.
  • Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and industry trends, assess their impact on the business, and recommend appropriate actions.
  • Investigate and respond to compliance issues, violations, and incidents in a timely and effective manner.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external regulators to address compliance concerns and inquiries.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory filings, reports, and disclosures as required by applicable laws and regulations.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a compliance, risk management, or a related field within the insurance industry.
  • A solid understanding of the regulatory framework, particularly Consumer Duty, SMCR and ICOBS and their application within the business.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective compliance programs and controls.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing compliance risks.
